PRESTONWOOD CHILDREN’S EXPANSION
Plano, Texas
The Children’s Building at Prestonwood was “state of the art” when it was opened in May 1999 but after sixteen years of use was in need of a major renovation. The challenge was to determine focused areas within the overall Children’s facility that encompassed well in excess of 100,000 SF so that the entire ministry area had a refreshed look. Renovation involved creating a new welcome area on the first floor called Kidz Central and an adjacent indoor play area, the renovation of a double court gym, and reset the look of a large venue space and adjacent game and “hang-out” area for the fourth through sixth grade students. The multi-purpose venue space is now termed “Loft 456” and the adjacent game area is termed “The Edge”.
