FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, TEMPLE
Temple, Texas
After over 100 years of ministry, First Baptist Church, Temple, experienced the loss of their historic sanctuary to the hands of an arsonist. The congregation stayed together and met the challenge of a new day for the ministry of First Baptist in a new location west of Downtown that encompasses 140 acres of land. The Master Plan called for a campus of somewhat less acreage, allowing room for growth and the ability to sell adjacent parcels over time. The Phase 1 facility includes a 450-seat Worship Center with expansion space to 520 seats. Education space includes Preschool, Children’s and Gymnatorium for the Youth. Support spaces include Administration and Choir Rehearsal. An iconic Tower is situated at the Entry which is reminiscent of the church’s original Bell Tower, prior to the fire.
